On March 25, Vampire Diaries fans will finally meet Matt's absentee mother, Kelly, in the form of Melinda Clarke. As BuddyTV reported previously, the former O.C. actress will be spicing things up with her sudden reappearance, which spells disaster for some of the residence of Mystic Falls. While Kelly's relationship with her son Matt will most likely be explored, the show will also feature Kelly in a cougar storyline that involves hot bloodsucker Damon. With all the shocking twists and turns on The Vampire Diaries, it's hard to imagine what will happen when the show returns with new episodes beginning March 25, let alone predict how things will play out in the season finale. Luckily, the cast and crew of this CW drama have managed to spill several teasers about the rest of the season during this weekend's Paley Fest.

Spoiler Alert: Fans were treated to the next new episode, “A Few Good Men,” airing March 25. O.C. grad Melinda Clarke makes her debut as Matt’s mom and she doesn’t hide her disdain for Matt’s “rebound girl” Caroline. Elsewhere, Damon gets sucked into a bachelor auction with the Real Housewives of Mystic Falls. The showdown between Damon and Alaric reaches a crescendo at the auction as the truth about Damon’s involvement in Isabel’s death comes out. Meanwhile, Alaric and Jenna grow closer, but the whole “your dead wife is the mother of my adopted niece” thing throws a wrench into their budding romance. As Elena grows closer to the truth about her mother, look for flashbacks to shed light on Isabel and Alaric’s ring. Additionally, two mysterious new figures will be introduced and there will be multiple deaths and revivals. We also haven’t seen the last of Anna and her mother Pearl.

The Vampire Diaries won't return with a new episode until March 25, but the following developments will take place on that date:
* Melinda Clarke debuts as Matt's boozy mom.
* Stefan and Elena worry about Damon's attitude, while Sheriff Forbes asks him to take part in a bachelor auction.
* Alaric learns more secrets from his past.
* Elena discovers revelations about her birth mother.

The Vampire Diaries has given us one hell of a season so far, from the shocking twists to the string of gorgeous looking actors guest-starring as vampires to spice up Mystic Falls. When the show returns with new episodes beginning March 25, we'll meet more characters in the form of 24's David Anders, General Hospital's Stephen Martines, The O.C.'s Melinda Clarke and Sunset Beach's Dax Griffin. But as The Vampire Diaries further explores the mysteries of the Tomb, it's safe to assume that more and more new faces will pop up in Mystic Falls.

Is Damon Salvatore capable of love with a (gulp!).... human being?
According to Vampire Diaries producer Julie Plec, the answer is yes. Slowly. Eventually. She recently told Entertainment Weekly:
We'll see Damon start to look at Elena as more than just his brother's girlfriend or the doppelganger to the love of his life. He'll start to love and understand her as a human being, which is ironic because Damon could typically give a s't about anything involving humanity. It's some good stuff.
We can't wait for it. The show comes back with a new episode on March 25, but fans can get a look at Vampire Diaries spoilers right now in anticipation of this return.
