 There's good and bad news for fans of the CW's Thursday night schedule. First, the bad news: after this week, both Supernatural and The Vampire Diaries will be taking a five-week hiatus, with reruns filling the Thursday night schedule through the middle of March.
What's the good news? When Supernatural and The Vampire Diaries return with new episodes starting March 25, their seasons will finish uninterrupted with eight brand new episodes each.

 Next week is going to be a big episode of The Vampire Diaries. The show's executive producers, in a new video preview, promise that the Tomb chapter will come to an end in a big way. Once again, The Vampire Diaries proves its uniqueness by not waiting until the end of the season to drag out Katherine's Tomb. Instead, just like with the Vicki story, there will be a certain amount of closure.

 One of the many things I love about The Vampire Diaries is the dense, rich backstory from 1864. "Children of the Damned" was the second episode to provide flashbacks into the time the Salvatore brothers fell in love with the vampire Katherine, and it just added more mysteries and more mythology to the series. At this point, The Vampire Diaries could spend an entire season in 1864 and I'd be happy.
The latest trip introduced the vampire Pearl and her daughter Annabel (aka present-day Anna), a duo working with Katherine in Mystic Falls. Knowing that Pearl is one of the 26 other vampires in Katherine's Tomb opens the door to one major question: who are the other 25?

A vampire series wouldn't be great if it didn't have a lot of good looking actors who are more than willing to bare some skin. Luckily, The Vampire Diaries is a show that has lots of hot cast members and plenty of nudity, at least that's what Ian Somerhalder hints for the rest of the season.
Though I'm sure a lot of Vampire Diaries fans won't have a problem with Stefan or Damon flaunting their gorgeous bodies, viewers shouldn't expect anything close to True Blood's raunchy themes and scenes. Still, there's comfort in knowing that there will be a lot of "sexy stuff" for the rest of the season.

The Vampire Diaries sheds light on what caused the rift in Damon and Stefan's relationship with the flashback episode "Children of the Damned." Tonight, more secrets about Mystic Falls will be revealed, including the Salvatore family history, when Stefan and Damon recall the events that transpired in the year 1864.

Ever had the taste slapped out of your mouth? Well, then you didn't watch The Vampire Diaries tonight...
Almost each segment of tonight's episode had a big reveal that took the story into a whole new chapter. There is new/old blood in town and they have an agenda. We also got a major follow-up to the "Elena's Adopted" storyline and more info on Alaric's wife Isobel. There is so much stuff to share that I feel like I am being stingy by procrastinating and not going on with this recap... Please forgive me. Let's move on...

 The Vampire Diaries initially gave me the impression that I'm watching some vampire flick rip-off with a hint of Dawson's Creek ---no offense to Dawson's Creek fans. Surprisingly, it got better and better and it's now one of the shows I'm looking forward to every Thursday night. However, we just might get that Dawson's Creek vibe again now that there are talks to bring in James Van Der Beek on the vampire series.Read more: |

We HEART pretty much everything about Ian Somerhalder from his gorgeous blue to eyes to his bad boy vampire character Damon Salvatore. More importantly, we love LOST, and we can't wait for the return of his character Boone in Lost's premiere, Tuesday 2 of February 2010.
Somerhalder recently sat down with Starpulse.com to talk about Vampire Diaries and LOST, and the writer said he might be “the nicest handsome man” he’s ever met. Ummm, can we meet him too?

Looks like everyone's a sucker for a decade-themed high school dance, and that includes the characters of The Vampire Diaries. Tonight there's a 1950s dance party in Mystic Falls and you're all invited to enjoy the colorful costumes and music, not to mention the mystery that's about to unfold when Stefan and Damon attempt to figure out the identity of the new vampire in town.
